Through exciting activities, fun games, and meaningful conversations, girls will learn to tap into their inner strength and help bring out the superpowers in one another. 💪💖
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Kate's theory and research form the foundation of this summer camp. With over 15 years as a psychotherapist, she has remained committed to making transformative knowledge accessible to all. Fueled by her passion for the Superpower Curriculum she created, she is excited to lead a fun-filled summer where girls tap into their inner strength and unlock their full potential!
DIRECTOR
Allison is a dedicated therapist on the Forward Edge team, specializing in working with children. She joined FES right after earning her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and we couldn’t be luckier to have her! This summer, Allison is SUPER excited to lead the day-to-day programming and help our SUPER Girls tap into their strengths, have fun, and grow together!
LOCATION
Camp is located in Douglas, near Blue Star and Center Street, in the same building as our friends at Edward Jones. Girls will enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities, utilizing our spacious group room, grassy picnic area, and the library right in our backyard! We may also take walks into Douglas or head to Beery Field, but drop-off and pick-up will always be at our office. Get ready for a summer full of fun, adventure, and discovery!
Girls will explore their true selves and what it means to be authentic. Through encouragement and support, they will embrace their uniqueness and learn the power of giving and receiving total acceptance, creating a space where everyone feels seen and valued.
Girls will recognize their fears and discover the strength to move beyond them. Through support and encouragement, they will help one another let their guard down and embrace the freedom that comes when fear no longer holds them back. Together, they will explore the possibilities that open up when they choose courage over fear.
Girls will unlock the true key to confidence—understanding that it’s not about knowing or mastering everything, but about feeling secure in who they are, what they know, and what they’re still learning. They will discover how to carry themselves with confidence in any situation, embracing both their strengths and their growth.
Girls will develop creative problem-solving skills by learning to think outside the box and approach challenges with a solution-focused mindset. They will support and encourage one another to explore new possibilities, embrace experimentation, and take healthy risks in pursuit of their goals.
Girls will deepen their understanding of friends’ inner worlds and emotions, fostering empathy and connection. They will discover the unique strength of friendships with other girls and learn the essential skills to nurture and sustain these bonds for a lifetime.
Girls will learn to recognize and appreciate the needs of others, even when they differ from their own. They will explore how to support and accommodate others in a way that strengthens relationships while still maintaining healthy boundaries.
Girls will learn to recognize what brings them joy and develop the skill of actively seeking it. They will encourage one another to notice life’s good moments while embracing the understanding that all emotions have a place and are part of the journey.
Girls will discover the impact of kindness and how even small acts can make a big difference. They will learn how kindness can spark new friendships, strengthen connections, heal wounds, and create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond themselves.
Girls will learn to dream boldly and envision the future they want, free from fear or self-doubt. They will support one another in pursuing their dreams and recognize the power they have to uplift and inspire their friends along the way.
Girls will embrace the joy of play, laughter, and fun while growing in confidence. They will encourage one another to let loose, be silly, and fully enjoy the moment, discovering the power of uninhibited self-expression.
Girls will learn about setbacks, failure, and the power of perseverance. They will support one another in rising after challenges and discover how to build resiliency factors in their lives to set themselves up for success.
Girls will learn the meaning of poise and how to apply life lessons to new situations with confidence. They will support one another in making thoughtful, independent choices based on their own wisdom, rather than peer pressure or the need for approval.
